SJB hands over names of national list members to EC

The Samagi Jana Balaweguaya (SJB) today handed over the names of the party's national list nominees to the Elections Commission.

The list handed over by party General Secretary Ranjith Maduma Bandara, included the names of Mr. Madduma Bandara, Eran Wickramaratne, Mayantha Disssanayake, Tissa Attanayake, Harin Fernando, Imtiaz Bakeer Markar and Dayani Gamage according to party sources.

Some of the constituent parties of SJB including the TPA,a SLMC and ACMC wanted slots but it was later reported that they had agreed to leave the matter to party leader Sajith Premadasa. Mr. Premadasa also claimed that the matter was resolved amicably. (Yohan Perera)

It is a shame for persons rejected by the people at the polls or those who do not have the strength to contest an election to be appointed as MPs. It is a shame indeed !
