Former prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is likely to report to the CID tomorrow to record his statement on the Central Bank bond scam, sources close to Mr. Wickremesinghe said yesterday.
Clarifying the situation on his refusal to give a time to the CID to record his statement on June 29, they said the CID initially wanted a statement recorded on June 26 but no one turned up on that day and however the CID had asked for another date and Mr. Wickremesinghe had told them he was available on July 3 but with the CID asking him for an earlier date, Mr. Wickremesinghe had agreed to meet the CID on July 2.
However, CID officials who had met Mr. Wickremesinghe on June 29 had asked him to give a statement on June 30 but he had informed the CID he was unable to do so as he had to attend a ceremony at Nalandarama Temple yesterday.
It was reported earlier that the Attorney General had directed the Acting IGP to record statements from Mr. Wickremesinghe and some others including former president Maithripala Sirisena, former PM's adviser S. Paskaralingam on the bond scam. (Yohan Perera)

Ranil won’t steel for sure. We must not forget he is a well read defense lawyer too. It’s a waste of time to question him since he knows his onions well. Looking at his past hard to get a word from his mouth.

Ranil and Sirisena (they don't deserve any title)putting blame on each other If I have my way I will lockup both of them just like other countries punish the leaders who has done wrong. we have a strange law that has to be corrected otherwise these parliamentary crooks will hide behind the loophole,

Ranil going to CID to give a statement but CID is going to Nawalapitiya to get a statement from Mahindananda! What a joke Law of the Gota-Mahinda- Pohottuwa land. Similarly Sangakkara is going to the investigation unit to give a report.
