Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe should not allow himself to be misled by those who have joined the UNP recently and confront SJB once he comes to Parliament, said an MP yesterday.
SJB MP Rajitha Senaratne told a press conference that Mr. Wickremesinghe should not allow himself to be misled by those new members of the UNP and try to confront SJB as it will be an impossible task. “One MP cannot confront around 50 MPS and I hope Mr. Wickremesinghe will understand this reality as a mature politician,” he said.
“We are not against Mr. Wickremesinghe coming into Parliament,” he added while highlighting that the former had gone back on his word by coming to Parliament as a national list MP. He recalled that Mr. Wickremesinghe himself said that no defeated MP from the UNP will be appointed MP through a national list.(YOHAN PERERA)
