Fairly heavy falls about 75 to 100 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Western provinces and in Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts in the coming days, Department of Meteorology said yesterday.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in several places in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle during the afternoons or nights.
“Temporarily strong gusty winds (up to 70-80 kmph) and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers,” the Department said.
Meanwhile, misty conditions are expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the mornings.
The level of rainfall had dropped as of yesterday with the highest rainfall of 57mm being reported from Hanwella as per the data put out by the Department of Meteorology. (Yohan Perera)
