A A A

The best yardstick to measure whether I've failed or not depends on public opinion but not on organised and false propaganda published by political opponents on social media, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said addressing the Nation.

Initial corona battle you’ve won, current outbreak you’re failing and 20th Amendment you’ve only wanted to serve your family.....so overall your performance is underwhelming....

You said correctly . Yes public will decide . We the folks think that you have failed not only once , twice or thrice. In many ocasions. Eventhough you talked big today, we dont see you have done a single meaningful thing for us. Try to do something atleast in future.

We the middle class Hindu Tamils of Jaffna Origin know that you are a naturally gifted person with multiple talents, the only criticism we have is that like all other Sri Lankan politicians you are also easily intimidated by India. Sri Lanka should not when it has powerful friends like Chins and America.

public will use social media to express...

Pantha Kumaran Wednesday, 18 November 2020 11:24 PM

Let us wait and see. I think the only way you can become a famous President is implementing democracy. Stop using racial remarks. Try to upset your minority citizens. On above all use civilians to run the country and not your Army friends.

You have not failed. Actually you have succeeded in controlling the invisible deadly virus that has crippled the whole world. Our rate if infections are low and our death rates are low compared to most other countries. We have been hit hard in our tourism , garment exports , expat remittances directly due to impact of virus. You could have kept everything open and then many would have died. At least our deaths are still below 100 whereas we would have had at least 100000 if those critics of yours were in power. So , sir , we would like to hear your motivational speeches more often in these times. We need to create a sense of hope or silver lining at the end of this dark period.
