The public service must be digitized to make Sri Lanka embrace modern digital technologies, Power Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said.
Addressing an event yesterday, the minister said as per the President's vision of prosperity, his main target is to convert the country to embrace the digital-based system.
"The main role of a politician is to identify the roots for problems," he further said.
He also stressed that being the Minister in charge of the subject, he would identify, address and eliminate the causes of the issues within the power sector.
Accordingly, the Government is expecting to build the first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) power plant at Kerawalapitiya in January and will be
commissioned by the Prime Minister, he said.
"We had experiences having worked with different parties and different Governments. They made various pledges to the people. But the incumbent government gave the people an entirely different vision," he said.
Through a successful step, the people have been gifted with the Mannar windmill power generating farm last week.
Also, we have plans in store to build the first ever solar power field in the country, the Minister added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

You can't digitalize it because SL hasn't digitized internal processes. Digitalization is not about putting software you need to prepare staff mindsets
