Police curfew re-imposed until further notice

The Police curfew which was lifted in the Puttalam district and Kochchikade police division this morning, has been re-imposed until further notice, Police said.

The government yesterday imposed Police curfew in Puttalam, Anamaduwa, Kalpitiya, Karuwalagaswewa, Mundalama, Nawagattegama, Pallama, Vanathavilluwa, Udappuwa, Norachcholai, Saliya Wewa police areas in the Puttalam Police Division, Chilaw, Dankotuwa, Koswatta, Madampe, Marawila, Wennappuwa, Arachchikattuwa areas in Chilaw Police Division and Kochchikade in Negombo.

However, the curfew was lifted at 8.00 a.m this morning in order to handover nominations for the forthcoming General Election and re-imposed at 2 p.m.

The GMOA normally is full of shit, but they proved right by exposing the dangers of the curfew lift. These are areas where a large number of Sri Lankan's are working in Italy doing menial work. They have come for the April holidays. It only enabled those under suspicion to roam freely and shop, mingling with people and to organize 'thamashas'. Acting IGP, where are you.
