Permission had been granted for candidates to use non-programmable calculators for the first time in local examination history for those who face the Financial accountancy paper one and two at the Sri Lanka Accountants' Service (Grade III) examination, the Examination Department said.
The Commissioner-General of Examination Sanath B. Pujitha said Open/Limited Competitive Examination for Recruitment to Grade III of the Sri Lanka Accountants' Service -2017/2018 (2020) would be held in 60 examination centres in Colombo District on February 16, 22 and 23.
He said only the non-programmable calculators should be brought by the candidate.
However, it will be prohibited to bring electronic communicable equipment such as Wristwatches, mobile phones and other related electronic items.
However, the Department would take further steps into digitalisation, the Examination Department had decided to call for applications for the G.C.E. O/L, A/L and the Grade Five Scholarship examination on an online-based system soon, he added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

So in the near future they will be allowed internet as well. The education standard in this country is coming down by the day.
