Health Ministry has decided to provide COVISHIELD vaccines to all those who are above 30 years in the Grama Niladhari Divisions in high risk COVID-19 spread areas in the Colombo and Gampaha Districts.
Accordingly, the vaccinating programme has been launched from today.
The Director General of Health Service told the Directors of Health in the Western Province and Regional Health authorities in the Colombo and Gampaha Districts and the Chief Medical Officer of the Colombo Municipal Council to identify the high risk Grama Niladhari Divisions where the vaccination programme should be expedited.
The DGHS has instructed to coordinate with the Epidemiology Unit to vaccinate those above aged 30 in the identified Grama Niladhari Divisions.
