Paying income tax during lock-down period: Cabinet approves not to charge any fine

The Cabinet has decided not to charge any fine on income tax during the lock-down period (till June 20, 2020), Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardane said.

He told the weekly Cabinet Briefing that President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had presented the cabinet paper in this regard.

    How can you expect income tax payment when there is no taxable income during the last three months? Companies and individuals both faced severe income loss due to Covid-19 lock down.
