Transport Minister Gamini Lokuge yesterday declared open several parking spaces at the Makumbura Multi-modal Transport Centre (MTC) in Kottawa with public facilities constructed for passenger transport service providers.
The passenger transport service providers will be provided several facilities such as tap water facilities for washing buses, modern toilets and latrines, restrooms, bathrooms, electronic billboards and communication facilities.

Project was a failure few years ago. Where were these buses all this time. A/c buses that operated between, for example, Panadura to Pettah and Negombo and Moratuwa to Kiribathgoda died a natural death suddenly. This resulted in people getting used to buses going back to their vehicles.

You have to park the vehicle in the open ground... everything looks like shallow, experimental and expensive.. even after massive failures like MRIA people still dont make proper consultations or analysis or feasibility studies before doing trial error with public money.. waste of money and time...

A minister opening what basically is a vehicle park. What next. Don't these politicians have better things to do? And all those pictures on boards. Such vanity.
