PS member arrested with heroin

Karuwalagaswewa Pradeshiya Sabha member Dimantha Vimukthi Ekanayake had been arrested with heroin in Anamaduwa this afternoon, police said.

Police said the 28-year-old PS member, a resident of Karuwalagaswewa, was arrested by the officers of the Police Narcotic Bureau (PNB) in Colombo when he was travelling in a three-wheeler on the Anamaduwa-Puttalam Road.

The PNB recovered 700 milligrams from the suspect's possession.

He was to be produced in the Anamaduwa Magistrate's Court.
