The Oman Air flight WY 371, which was scheduled to land at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, was diverted to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) this morning due to the adverse weather, MRIA Airport Manager, Upali Kalansuriya said.
He said the flight arrived from Muscat and was diverted due to severe thunderstorms and showers in Katunayake this morning. The flight landed at the MRIA at 8.20 am.
“Fifty-eight passengers and crew members were on board the flight. However, no one was allowed to disembark the flight. It returned to BIA at 9.54 a.m. after refuelling,” Mr.Kalansuriya said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

Only 58 souls in the flight?? WY used to have their flights filled to brim. Its guess for how long foreign airlines and Sri Lankan could continue to operate with this pathetic load factor!! The sad thing is the politicians are playing pucks while the country and the economy are going to the dogs in front their eyes.
