Travel restrictions will not be imposed during the weekend and the public is requested to avoid gatherings and assist to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Army Commander and Head of the National Operation Center for the Prevention of COVID-19, General Shavendra Silva said.

However, necessary measures will be taken to isolate the areas where the number of COVID positive cases are high, he said.
