The series of recent minor tremors which were felt in the Digana area in Kandy are not dangerous and will not create any serious concerns, the Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) said.
GSMB Head Anura Walpola today said that all the minor tremors felt recently were lesser than 2.0 in the Richter scale.
A special team had already been sent to the area to investigate the cause for the tremors, he said.
The team would determine whether the tremors had any links to the limestone deposits beneath the surface of that area, Mr. Walpola said.
The geologists have confirmed that the people living in the area not to be alarmed of any threat due to the tremors, Mr. Walpola said further. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
