The experts’ committee report on the proposed Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement will be referred to the new Cabinet, Foreign Secretary Jayanath Colombage said.
He told Daily Mirror at an interview that the committee had raised many issues regarding national interests and that answers needed to be found for these questions.
“I think the report will be submitted to the new Cabinet. The new Cabinet will be expected to make observations from the view point of each ministry. Once that is done, it will be referred to Parliament probably, debated to arrive at a compromise. I don’t know what that compromise will be,” he said.
When asked about the MoU signed among Sri Lanka, India and Japan on the development of the Colombo Port's East Container Terminal, Prof. Colombage said the President was committed to honour it because it was an arrangement between the two countries. He said the policy of the President was that no national asset would be given in total control to any country. See full interview on A5. (Kelum Bandara)

Prof. Colombage, the same has been done before the election by the previous cabinet, what was the outcome. Is it a never ending process. You are going to lose your credibility.

Just don't waste time sign the agreements. The circus is over the people bought your story and gave you 2/3rd now tell them it's all good and we have removed so many clauses etc. The game is the truth becomes a lie and a lie becomes the truth and life goes on.

two negatives make a positive. Similarly, two true lies make it an absolute truth !

Does this mean that all this time this so-called MCC thing was in the Nursery school. Eventually, it will see daylight only around 2025.
