While stressing that Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa was no longer a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) as he had obtained Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) membership and become its leader, MP Mahinda Amaraweera said they would not take any disciplinary action against Rajapaksa because it would hamper the talks between SLFP and SLPP.
He told a news briefing today that Mahinda Rajapaksa quitting SLFP was a matter of concern.
“According to the SLFP Constitution, if an SLFP member obtained membership of another party, his or her party membership would be annulled,” he said.
“We don’t want to sabotage the talks with SLPP because we have almost come to the final rounds. I think we could conclude the talks before the nominations of the presidential election are handed over,” Amaraweera added.
He said it was baffling as to why Rajapaksa obtained SLFP membership while he was bearing membership of SLPP and becoming one of its senior advisors. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

Amaraweera only kept these rouges in the Party after forming SLPP long time ago. They betrayed SLFP long ago and now stabbed standing in front.

Does it mean that any body can change parties. Even if the talkes faile, they will not take any action and might say that any action may hamper future talks. All these are jockers and jokes at us.

All the rouges should get together to steal the country for one more attempt. Imagine the proposal of paying back 4400 million to pay back stolen / misappropriated money by Rajapaksha. Rjapaksa's were defeated for wrong doings. Now Sira wants to legitimize the stealing and wants to get together to survive in some place within a future government. General public hated you for violating the constitution deliberately. Proposal to pay back 4400 Million stolen from the coffers put you in history books as the most corrupted leader in the history.

If people can have dual citizenship while being MPs, can't MR have dual membership?
