MP’s son remanded over assault

Puttalam District UNP MP, Shantha Sisira Kumara Abeysekara’s son Ishan Chaturanga was remanded till July 4 after he was produced at the Chilaw Magistrate's Court today.

He was arrested this morning after he surrendered to the police over an assault on a police constable attached to the Ministerial Security Division (MSD).

    People getting beaten up by the Police is a daily occurrence in every Police station in Sri Lanka. Only pathological liars will deny this. So news of a Policeman becoming a victim to assault is extraordinary .

    What has happened is not reported. Publish the complaint by the cop .. so we could understand the cause for the incident.
