All liquor shops in the central province have been temporarily closed on the instructions of Central Province Governor Maithri Gunaratne, Excise Department sources said.
A spokesman for the Governor’s Office said the Governor had requested the Commissioner General of Excise to close down the liquor shops for a week due to the prevailing situation in some parts of the country.
