Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said today there was no obstacle to resubmit a document which was withdrawn on the same day and that he resubmitted the supplementary estimate on Wednesday according to Standing Orders.
He told this in Parliament responding to a point of order brought on by joint opposition MP Chandima Weerakkodi.
MP Weerakkodi said the Speaker had not given his ruling on the matter cropped up in parliament on Wednesday with regard to the supplementary estimate whereas presiding member Bimal Ratnayake referred it to the Speaker.
House Leader Kiriella said a document withdrawn can be presented again on the same day while the House was in progress according to Standing Orders.
MP Bimal Ratnayake said he was on the opinion that it was not possible to resubmit a supplementary estimate in such a manner as it was an important document not like a ministerial statement.
Mr. Kiriella reiterated that there was no obstacle to do so according to Standing Orders. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

Supplementary estimates to buy luxury cars for those who do not deserve. No supplements to look after the poor who struggle to live.
