While claiming that the Presidential Commission which probed the Easter Sunday attacks has not been able to uncover anything new, SJB MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka said today that he had made his own report on the attack.
Speaking during the debate on the Presidential Commission which probed the Easter Sunday attacks in Parliament there is no difference between the Presidential Commission and the Parliamentary Select Committee.
“I made my own report on the Easter Sunday attacks disassociating myself from the Parliamentary select committee though I was a member of it and I table by own report in the House today,” he said.
“I cannot agree with the Presidential Commission’s decision to hold former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando, as his post is merely an administration job. The Defence Secretary has no power to make decisions pertaining to military operations. Also I don’t blame the former IGP as they cannot carry out even security checks without the orders from the Defence Minister,” he added.
He said former President Maithripala Sirisena cannot deny that he was aware of the Easter Sunday attacks as DIG Nilantha Jayawardene has been contacting him frequently.
“The Presidential Commission has also said it believes that the former President had prior knowledge,” he said.
Also he said Zahran has been involved in extremist activities prior to 2015 and had been in the possession of T56 rifles.
“I cannot recall Zahran playing a role during the war against LTTE during that time though some claim that he was an informant during that time,” he also said. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)

So, two reports confirm that Maitripala Sirisena was aware of the whole plot. Now what? Guilty by association?
Shahan Samarasinghe Thursday, 11 March 2021 09:45 AM
Mythiripala Sirisena had frequent touch with DIG Nilantha , both reports reveals the fact. Hence, IGP has to take appropriate action against Sirisena.
M. Palitha Perera [Ex- Army Officer] Thursday, 11 March 2021 09:48 AM
Yes, Gen. Sarath Fonseka has a wide knowledge about the War Criminals. His report could be 100% accepted.

It is clear that Sirisena is responsible for this nasty act. He should be punished and kept behind bars.
