Hybrid Renewable Energy Grid to be installed in Nainatheevu, Delft, Analaitheevu islands

While supporting the Electricity Supply Reliability Improvement Project, the Government granted approval to the proposal to install a Hybrid Renewable Energy Grids in Nainatheevu, Delft and Analaitheevu islands, Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

Addressing the weekly cabinet briefing, the said the Hybrid Renewable Energy Grid will be installed to utilize the accessible energy resources to improve the efficacy of the prevailing Energy structure.

"The Project will be implemented by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funds. International Competitive Bids will also be called to install the Hybrid Renewable Energy Grid in the said islands," Minister Rambukwella said.

    Good decision. The funds from Asian Development Bank (ADB) is loans and not grants. So they have gone back to international lending agencies. Would be interesting to know the amount and the payment terms.
