Revising the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court order to release IGP Pujith Jayasundera and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando on bail, the Colombo High Court today (Oct 9) ordered to remand the suspects again.
Earlier, IGP Jayasundera and Mr Fernando had been charged over their failure to prevent the Easter Sunday attacks by the Attorney General (AG). The Colombo Chief Magistrate had granted them bail.
The AG had filed the revision petition against the decision provided by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court and considering the petition, the High Court had decided to revoke the bail order granted to the suspects by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court. (Farook Thajudeen, Yoshitha Perera)
