The Colombo High Court (HC) yesterday fixed for tomorrow the inquiry into two motions seeking bail for IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.
When the motions were called before the court yesterday, the inquiry and submissions by the parties were postponed till February 5.
The top officials concerned have been accused of failing to take measures to avert the Easter Sunday attacks that took place at Katuwapitiya Church in Negombo, St. Anthony’s Church in Kochchikade, Deon Church in Batticaloa, three deluxe hotels – Shangri-La, Kingsbury and Cinnamon Grand in Colombo – and several other places.
It was alleged that the duo had prior knowledge of the attacks but neglected their duties. (T. Farook Thajudeen)
