Five more COVID-19 deaths were reported today increasing the death toll in the country to 532, the Government Information Department said.
Accordingly, an 86-year-old female from Jaffna, a 76-year-old female from Gampaha, a 61-year-old male from Kochchikade, a 78-year-old male from Pamunugama and a 94-year-old female from Kalutara North passed away from the virus.

In comparison to daily contacts and daily deaths in S/A countries other than India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, our statistics is unusually higher though we live in an island-country. Further, at this rate, Sri Lanka may surpass China in total number of cases, within a week.
