Father and son killed, another two injured

A 35-year-old man and his son died and another two others were when a three-wheeler skidded off the road and fell into a precipice at Gabaragala in Ella last night, police said.

They said four members of the same family were travelling in the three-wheeler when the accident occurred. Police said the three-wheeler fell into a 350-meter deep precipice.

The injured were admitted to the Badulla Hospital. The 35-year-old man and his 8-year-old son succumbed to their injuries while another two sons (12 and 8 ) of the deceased man were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

They were identified as residents of Ella.
