Health authorities have focused attention on the need to lock down several villages in the Divulapitiya MOH Division due to the emergence of several Covid-19 cases.
Administrative PHI S.A.U.T Kulatillake told the Divisional Coordinating Committee last morning that 100 COVID-19 infected had been identified from the MOH division in the last two days and that he informed the impending danger to the Gampaha District Office as well. The PHI said one of those infected was a nine-year-old schoolboy.
He said four members of the same family had been infected and the chief householder had gone missing. Committee chairman and State Minister of Housing Indika Anuruddha instructed officials to look into the need of closing schools in the affected areas
PHI Kulatillake said a resident of the area who died at the Dambadeniya hospital had been identified as Corona infected and that five members in the family were quarantined. He informed the committee that 26 families had been quarantined and that several PCR and Rapid Antigen test reports were yet to be received. (Pushpakumara Mallawarachchi)
