This power-hungry Rajapaksa clan walks over dead bodies to hold the elections.
DeeJay Friday, 22 May 2020 01:54 PM
Power hungry Yahapalaya screwed up country, central ban and the culture too. At least this government is doing something worthwhile
Chandima Friday, 22 May 2020 01:37 PM
What will happen to Jasinghe if he says can't recommend to have the elections under the current situation? What a joke.
DJ Friday, 22 May 2020 01:40 PM
Why don't you and PB have your election and the rest can watch you'll share the Covid 19. Selfish bunch of morons
Alex Friday, 22 May 2020 01:47 PM
So if the DGHS informed your client of this why was it not transmitted to the EC's dept ???? Were they perhaps playing snakes and ladders at the time?
Chand Friday, 22 May 2020 02:00 PM
SJP, UNP, TNA and JVP is all out to postpone election for the sheer fear of landslide loss. That is the only reason nothing else. They try all tricks to achieve that. If elections are not held soon , country is doomed.
Sodha Friday, 22 May 2020 02:04 PM
Govt playing through DGHS.
Novote Friday, 22 May 2020 02:04 PM

If all is clear....Why a Curfew in Colombo and Gampaha Districts. Please lift it from 26/05....Sham isn't it.
A voter Friday, 22 May 2020 02:22 PM
We all know that the normal election process from end to end cannot take place in this situation despite this letter from DGHS. A simple question to answer is can the EC mobilize the full team of required staff to manage the entire election process..

Current government has so many puppets working behind the scenes for them.

He has sold out SGHS on behalf of his client. Election can be held but no one will go to votes in order to get Covid19.
Andrew Silva Friday, 22 May 2020 02:49 PM
Ramesh de Silva and Gothas hench men are tightening the noose round Dr. Anil Jasenghes neck and only words he can utter is yes sir.
Sid Friday, 22 May 2020 02:50 PM
Why doesn't Romesh summon the DGHS Jasinghe to the SC and ask him to make a statement in open court so that it will be recorded for posterity. Why should he talk through a proxy?
Pon Kulendiren Friday, 22 May 2020 02:53 PM
The attorney representing President is not worried about the lives of voters but what he wants in MONEY
Andrew Silva Friday, 22 May 2020 02:53 PM
Did Counsel Romesh de Silva go to meet Dr. Anil Jasinghe in a white van?
Ranjith Friday, 22 May 2020 02:56 PM
I challenge lift the curfew from and go for elections and fix the date in mid July President is not lifting curfew to gain political advantage for general elections not for the sake of the people what a shameful act
roni Friday, 22 May 2020 03:26 PM
Only the comments of PC Romesh de Silva are published what about the others involved, there surely should be more than one side to this story.
samson Friday, 22 May 2020 03:31 PM
Why DGHS say so earlier and relax curfew so that people can flock together and keep away from social distancing, go and vote anytime. people have lost jobs, income and economy ruined.
Nashorn Friday, 22 May 2020 03:32 PM
The same government issues island wide curfews from 24/25 May. These type of statements should be limited to achichi ammas in Madamulana.
Hareen Friday, 22 May 2020 03:36 PM
Country wide curfew being imposed on 24th and 25th May 2020, the DGHS says can conduct election, what a Joker? Who can guarantee that COVID 19 is completely over in SL to go ahead with Elections. Even now the authorities are asking to maintain social distancing and at the polling booths social distancing will be miles away. These power hungry politicians live in luxury and the voters are sufferring even without their daily meals. Quarantine is atleast 21 days for every suspected patient and on daily basis we are having Positive COVID 19 patients, then how come you can have an election. Is the DGHS so stupid.
