Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayaka directed the police to arrest former Customs Director-General Jagath Premalal Wijeweera and former Customs Assistant Director-General Tharaka Seneviratne and produce them in court today.
They are accused of breaching the sacred trust by distributing gold belonging to the Sri Lanka Customs to build a golden Samadi statue weighing 8kg.
Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) submitted a report on this incident to the court mentioning that the Attorney-General had advised that the two suspects should be arrested and produced in the court.
