Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa said the candidates may not always agree on policies and principles but they could still respect one another.
Tweeting a photo of himself with NDF presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa at the Elections Commission after handing over nominations on Monday, Mr. Rajapaksa said, “Meeting and greeting today at the Elections Office endorses my genuine belief that contenders can and do disagree on principles and policies but still remain respectful of one another. Ultimately, it’s the people and the nation who must be victorious!.”
