Mohammed Rizwan, described by the police as a close associate of the terrorists involved in the Easter Sunday attacks, was arrested in the Mabole area in Wattala by the Western Province Intelligence Division officers yesterday.
Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said the suspect was arrested with several passports and is being questioned under detention.
Meanwhile, the Police Media Spokesman said yesterday due to the peaceful situation prevailing in the country, no police curfew was imposed.
He also said no incidents of violence had been reported from either the North Western province or the Gampaha Police Divisions. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
