Former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, who is now being remanded at the M Ward of the Colombo Remand Prison, is spending his time reading books and newspapers, prison sources said.
Seated on a wooden bench, he is seen reading and at times exchanging a few words with prison officers, creating no hassle to either him or prison officials, they said. He had only requested for a mattress from prison authorities while his meals are brought from outside.
Jathika Hela Urumaya Deputy leader and former Deputy Minister parliamentarian Karu Paranavithana and several Buddhist monks had visited him in prison yesterday morning. (Jayantha Samarakone)
