Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, in his Christmas message, said it was a celebration of love and respect for each other.
He said: “Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ and the advent of God towards mankind. It is the celebration of love and respect for each other.
The message of peace and love should be in our hearts. Intertwined with Christmas is a deep doctrine that philosophically leads us to spend the Christmas with the poor and children.
“I believe that the true meaning of Christmas is to go look for the child who was born in the cold in a manger in a poor stable in Bethlehem.
“May the hearts and houses of all Christians in Sri Lanka and all over the world be filled with peace and health with the joy of Christmas. Merry Christmas to you all!”

How many people in Sri Lanka are living still in huts more worst than the poor stable in Bethlehem? This drunkard has only love and respect for his clan.

PM Sir, yes it is true that "peace and love should be in our hearts" but in real life we see it only as mere words.
