The case against former IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando in connection with the Easter Sunday terrorist attack was postponed till October 3 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the court that recording statements from the first suspect, Hemasiri Fernando had been finished while two statements had been recorded from the second suspect, Pujith Jayasundara.
However, CID said they were yet to record further statements from the second suspect.
Meanwhile, the Magistrate ordered to expedite the investigations and submit the report when the case is taken up for hearing next time. (Nimanthi Ranasinghe)
