Cardinal briefs UNHRC High Commissioner over Easter Sunday Attacks

Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith met UNHRC High Commissioner Michelle Bachelet in Geneva today.

The meeting comes two days after Cardinal Ranjith met Pope Francis and briefed him on the investigations that are being carried out on the Easter Sunday bomb attacks in 2019, and stressed the need to seek international assistance to uncover the mastermind behind that gruesome suicide attack.

A brief press release issued by Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo Rev. J. D. Anthony Jayakody confirmed that the Cardinal's meeting with the UNHRC High Commissioner.

He said the meeting took place at 2.30 pm Sri Lanka time in Geneva.

"Cardinal Ranjith discussed about revealing the truth behind the Easter Sunday terror attacks,“ the Auxiliary Bishop said.

A press conference which was to be held in Colombo on the meeting which Cardinal Ranjith had had with the Pontiff, was called off later during the day. (Yohan Perera)

Dear cardinal , where were you when thousands of innocent people who were massacred during the 30 year civil war in this country ? You didn't know what sort of bombs were used during the war?

You were so happy when your niece was appointed as first secretary at the Sri Lankan embassy in Rome by Mahinda Mama. You knew very well the powerful family very well planned, executed and then blamed the Muslims for Easter Sunday attack. I wonder what and where all went wrong for YOUR personal agenda?
