The driver of the car which was driven on the expressway in a reckless manner with a group of men has been summoned to report to the Expressway Division Police Unit along with the passengers.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the driver of the car as well as all those who travelled in it dangerously will be prosecuted.
The original owner of the car is a resident of Peradeniya Road in Kandy and in 2015 he had sold the car to a person in the Akurana in Alawathugoda, the DIG said.
Police said two persons including the driver who were involved in the incidents are residents of the Alawathugoda Police area and they have been informed to report to the Expressway Police Unit along with three other passengers.
Police launched an investigation after the video circulated on social media.
The video shows that four persons on board the sedan, had lowered the shutters and were seated on the doors facing each other from both sides of the vehicle.
Their unruly behaviour had caused disturbance and distraction to the fellow motorists who were driving along on the expressway. (DSB)

The way authorities handles Covid 19 is also recklessly: vaccinating young healthy army and police, MP's, even friends and family of doctors get priority. Investigate that too, DIG. ( oh, I am sure you and your family had your vaccine too already)

Confiscate their car as state property, cancel their driving licence for 2 years, jail them for 2 weeks. And give good publicity. So that others know what happens when they do this type of activity. Otherwise , this will continue and some innocent people may loose their lives.

Arent the Expressway Police patrolling the highway? They should be pulled up first. Another Police inquiry?

Waste of public funds trying to arrest these goons. First arrest the Expressway Police for not apprehending these guys.
