The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Colombo District from second wave surpassed 25,000 with 261 patients were detected yesterday.
Accordingly, the second wave of COVID-19 cases in the Colombo District stands at 25,163 while, 13,339 cases in Gampaha and 5,040 cases in the Kalutara Districts.
Despite the highest number of cases are being reported in Colombo, only five Grama Niladhari Divisions remain isolated as of today. Another 41 GN divisions in 10 districts are under isolation.
A total number of 715 COVID-19 patients were reported yesterday and 142 cases among them were reported from Gampaha and 40 from Kalutara.
Among 261 patients identified in Colombo, 123 cases were reported from the Colombo Municipality area, while 22 from Kaduwela and 21 from Piliyandala.
Also, more than 5,000 cases have been reported in the country within the last six days and more than 1,500 patients were from the Colombo District alone.
