President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today called on the people to blame him if he was not able to resolve people's issues during his tenure as President.

He said he has managed to develop the economy, which was crippled when he came to power, as a domestic green economy despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The President expressed these views while participating at the "Gama Samaga Pilisandara" programme in Vavunia District today.

"I always say it is not Gotabaya Rajapaksa who is important, what is important is the force and the ideology which have brought me to this position. That is what we should safeguard. The motive of the false agendas of the rival forces is to defeat this ideology. What I am doing is to fulfill our promises that have been made to the people," he said.

You said you are the president for all the Sri Lankans., If it is so why don't you meet the Tamil speaking parliamentarians to resolve the issues of the Tamil speaking people. Now don't dodge. You very well know what gave birth to the Tamil speaking militant forces like LTTE,TELO etc. Let see whether your words have action. I bet you won't.

Already one and half years gone in Gotabaya's term. Nothing positive was achieved during that time. How can he deliver what was promised during the remainder of the term. "It is all pie in the sky".
