Scientific approach to the cremation of remains that die of COVID-19 should be adopted while respecting the beliefs of the Muslim community, National People's Power (NPP) MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today.
He told Parliament that ignoring Muslim community's belief would lead to communal unrests.
“We accept that there should be a scientific approach with regard to victims of COVID-19. However, beliefs of the Muslim community should also be honoured,” he said.
Mr. Dissanayake said a certain group in the Government is instigating racism and urged the government to stop such moves saying that it would lead to long-term disharmony.
“The rulers since the past have been engaged in instigating racism to divert burning issues. An incident was reported in Mawanella where a Buddhist Statue was stoned. This was also connected to this series of actions to instigate racism,’ he charged. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

Why the Muslim community cannot understand that contaminated bodies have to be disposed in a safe manner. This is a pandemic situation which needs sacrifices and precautions from each and everyone. We are all in one boat. If everyone ask for exemptions and changing of precautions it will never work to overcome this situation.

So others should die to honor a religion?

No hope for Muslims in Sri Lanka. We should move out of the country, and we can prosper overseas, I know many families who have done so!

Your freedom is up to my nose end as they say. This is a pandemic and you don't want it to resurface in 6 months because the virus was dormant in the earth.

How he is expecting to fulfill belief of the Muslim community ? These guys are just creating issues. If some people have stoned a Buddhist statue, they should be arrested. Period.

Silva, Gayan, Hari and Vajira : You all are like frogs in wells. No any world or scientific knowledge. World is going with science while you are on myth. Some countries which are advance in science have already made vaccines and they have allowed burials but you want only their vaccines. There are prominent virologists in Sri Lanka and they have already approved burials. Half baked racist people like you only making problem.

It's no surprise that the 6.9million fooled will remain fools as this is a mythical country proved strongly believing upon dhammika tonic . So it's too advance for this country to understand on the risk of contracting covid through burial .We pray that this country does not become a beggars state at the rate of progress.
