The Government Medical Laboratory Technologists Association (GMLTA) today expressed concern that there is an attempt to close the PCR laboratory at the Katunayake Airport and to open a private laboratory.
The GMLTA President Ravi Kumudesh requested the authorities to disclose whether the Chinese vaccines have been approved with the knowledge of the technical committees.
"The Chinese vaccine was approved by overthrowing the top chairs of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority through political influence," Kumudesh charged.
Permitting the private sector to import COVID vaccines, does not result in increasing the number of vaccines.
"The epidemic situation cannot be controlled by allowing the distribution of vaccines based on monetary capacity. Importing vaccines should be a pure government process," Ravi Kumudesh added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

I really can’t believe the moral of the people. Someone really trying to make money through misery of vulnerable people who really needs the vaccine. Wonder how they sleep the night with feeding their children with that kind of earning.
