Referring to a recent alleged abduction of a journalist, SJB MP Dr. Harsha de Silva today questioned whether President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is going to let abductions start again.
"What we hear is that Siyarata web journalist Sujeewa Gamage was gagged, hooded, thrown into a black van and tortured for info on his sources and political contacts before being dumped at a street corner. Is President Gotabaya Rajapaksa going to let abductions start again?" he questioned, MP de Silva said this in his Twitter message.
When contacted by the Daily Mirror, he said he did tweet condemning the recent abduction of a journalist.
The MP’s tweet was a quote-tweet response to former speaker Karu Jayasuriya who said the alleged abduction was a reminder of the pre-2015 era.
When contacted, Director General of Government Information Nalaka Kaluwewa said they had not received any complaint on such an incident.
