’Aaryawa-Baryawa’ stories no threat to Sajith’s popularity: Harin

Minister Harin Fernando said yesterday that despite social media attempts to destroy Sajith Premadasa’s name and fame fabricating a ‘lady and wife’ story, it would not pose a problem to him because the villagers are with him.

He added, “This is a time when the United National Party is fed up with the politics of our country. There is a ray of hope about Sajith Premadasa to some extent.More than the old conventional methodologies, people see some potential in the 52-year-old leader. The majority of the people are in favour of Sajith."

According to him, the name Premadasa is more meaningful than transferring power among members of one family.

He also said that Sajith had worked full time from 1995 and had exhibited his ability in 14,000 Grama Niladhari divisions; the villagers love him and he appears to be a leader whom the people would like very much at the presidential election. (Palitha Ariyawamsa)

Are you the one selecting or its peoples' vote? Does the majority live in villages or towns? It's rather better to be quiet without getting mud sling from people.

We have ascertained from his talks and activities. Sajith is certainly not fit to be a ruler.

If UNP wants go to people immediately Ranil handover the leadership toSajith

    Milinda Tuesday, 16 July 2019 08:32 AM

This is only political jargon. The true picture will evolve once the campaign gets underway. If Sajith adopts his father s our dated policies that will be the end of the road for him.

Lord Wolfstein Tuesday, 16 July 2019 09:54 AM

Even if Sajith Premadasa is not perfect, he is the best man Sri Lanka currently has for the highest office. Even the intelligent city dwellers are behind him.

    Renu Tuesday, 16 July 2019 10:12 AM

Ranil it is high time you retire now , and handover leadership to Sajith. Ranil enough is enough for even ardent UNPers. We need a UNP government without oldies and roughs

Why on earth did Mrs. Sajith Premadasa's have to open her mouth instead of keeping a low profile all these years. Now it is case of damage control. She should take a cue from the 'first lady', Jayanthi Sirisena
