50% average voter turnout as at 12 noon: PAFFREL

The average voter turnout of the presidential election was recorded as over 50 per cent as at 12.00 noon, the Execute Director of the People’s Actions for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) Rohana Hettiarachchi said.

According to the returning officers, voter turnout was recorded as at 12.00 noon as follows:

Badulla- 60%
Polonnaruwa- 52%
 Anuradhapura- 50%
Batticaloa 44%,
Moneragala- 55%
 Ratnapura- 55%
 Puttalam- 50%
 Mannar 48%
Kurunegala- 55%
Kalutara- 50%
Vavuniya- 50%
Matale- 56%
Mullaitivu- 45%
Kegalle- 45%
Ampara- 39%
Killinochchi- 49%
Jaffna- 44%
Mannar- 48%
 Batticaloa- 40%
Trincomalee- 48%
