Some 44,000 consumers have been affected by power breakdowns due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the country, Power and Energy Development Director and Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardena said.
He told the Daily Mirror that nearly 2,300 incidents have been reported during the last two days.
As such, areas like Kalutara, Horana, Kuliyapitiya, Narammala, Dambulla, certain areas in Kandy, Kegalla and Akuressa have been affected by the power outage, he said.
However, the CEB maintenance services are already deployed to restore the power supply with the least possible delay, Mr Jayawardena added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
