Huawei and Singer felicitate high performers at inaugural Retail Partner Awards

The leading smartphone brand Huawei and Singer Sri Lanka PLC, the country’s number one brand and smartphone marketer and the exclusive national distributor for Huawei, recognized its top retail partners in the country at a gala function held at Waters Edge recently.
Themed ‘You are the One’, the inaugural retail partner awards was graced by Singer Sri Lanka PLC CEO Asoka Pieris and Huawei Sri Lanka CEO Daniel Sun. More than 250 Huawei dealers were recognized for their commitment and dedication bestowed towards the brand throughout its two and half years of operations in the country. From a retail partner network of over 1500, the 10 best performers were shortlisted on their sales performance, brand loyalty and partnership for brand expansion during the FY14.
The Retail Partner Awards Ceremony comprised five categories of which Ahmed Rizvi Rifkhan from iDealz Lanka was judged as the Best Retail Partner of the Year whilst Sunil Thilakawardana from Thilakawardana Cellular Centre and Mohamed Rushdi Mouzan of Phonez was adjudged as the runner-up and second runners up, respectively.
Speaking further, Singer Sri Lanka PLC Group CEO Asoka Pieris added, “Our retail network plays an integral part adding value to our partner eco-system. The retail partner team, constantly engage with our loyal customers, listening to their needs, concerns and they truly understand our customers pulse. The journey we have set forth for and milestones we have achieved is truly remarkable within this short time period. Huawei Device Sri Lanka Country Head Henry Liu said, “Since mid-2012, Huawei’s exclusive distributor is Singer Sri Lanka. Together with Singer we are here today to honour the true champions of our brand, our valued retail partner network. It is through your hard work and focus and constant feedback we were able to achieve the number two position in the local smartphone market within a very short span. The brand’s popularity and sales witnessed an immense growth, occupying a market leadership position within a very short period including the number two rank in Sri Lanka in 2013 and 2014 in the smartphone segment.” He further added, “We are sincerely thankful for all your hard work and support bestowed towards Huawei and we look forward to working with you closely as we march towards the number one position in the smartphone market locally.”
The Huawei retail network comprises of 19 outlets and service centres islandwide. In addition to that, Huawei smartphones are available through the country’s largest retail network Singer, including, Singer Mega, Singer Plus and SISIL World stores, comprising of over 400 retail outlets and Singer’s digital media channel that serves 1500 digital media outlets across the country.
