Huawei opened a brand-new Experience Store in Colombo at Liberty Plaza Ground Floor adding another chapter to its expansion drive in Sri Lanka.

The Experience Store is designed with interactive areas where consumers can decide on their favourite Huawei smartphones, tablets and other devices. The opening of the new Experience Store paves the way to Huawei’s ambitious plans of expanding its footprint in all major and strategic locations across the country.

The Experience Store was officially declared open by chief guest Dilith Jayaweera, Huawei Device Sri Lanka Country Head Henry Liu and General Manager Kalpa Perera and Singer Sri Lanka PLC Director Operations Chandana Samarasinghe.
Speaking about his plan for the market Liu said, “Huawei has become a leader in innovation and technology by understanding consumer needs. Our main focus is to be the number one brand in the smartphone market giving a total quality experience to Sri Lanka. This strengthens our retail offering and also gives an opportunity for our customers to not only access the very best premium devices, but also smartphones which are affordable.”

Perera added, “The new Experience Centre opening will also give an opportunity to the urban market to further explore Huawei’s quality products and services. We want all our consumers in Sri Lanka to experience Huawei’s brand essence from the moment they step into these stores.”
Within the next quarter Huawei plans to grow its distribution to over 3,000 outlets and by the end of this year to have 20 islandwide service centres enhancing its service offering locally. The launch of the new Experience Centre is a result of the response to the growing demand for Huawei smartphones in Sri Lanka and to ensure original Huawei products and services are easily accessible to all locals.

Huawei has gained a market share of 24.4 percent, according to GFK Q3 2016 in Sri Lanka further accelerating its market as the number two smartphone brand in the country. Huawei is ranked 47th among the World’s Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in 2016, according to Brand Finance. Recently, Huawei jumped to Number 72 on Interbrand’s Best Global Brands.
