The Institute of Personnel Management (IPM) Sri Lanka, the nation’s premier professional body in human resource management (HRM), engages in yet another unprecedented endeavour to tie up with popular corporate etiquette trainer and award-winning television personality, Kumar de Silva to offer one-of-a-kind programmes.

These programmes are centred around ‘Personality Development and Corporate Etiquette’ and will be conducted by de Silva in collaboration with IPM.
IPM continues to be in the forefront by adding value to the business fraternity by means of delivering cutting-edge educational and informative programmes that revolve around a multitude of subjects such as youth leadership, job deliverables and emotional intelligence, public speaking and more recently on corporate etiquette (more details on this could be found on IPM’s website: www.ipmlk.org ).

Corporate etiquette trainer Kumar de Silva counts nearly 30 years of experience working and interacting with hundreds of people from different organisations across Sri Lanka’s multi-disciplined corporate sector.

He now shares his experiences, gained both in Sri Lanka and in France, to help corporates gain confidence, enhance their social performance levels and navigate their personal role in the journey to success.

Corporate employees, he says, are constantly being challenged by the rapidly changing needs of the business environments they function in. “It is thus of critical importance that the staff of every organisation is endowed with finely tuned soft skills to enable them to stand out tall and be the envy of their peers.”
This programme is mainly aimed at all those employees who come into direct contact with customers and the public. The course content is home-grown and specially crafted with a strong Sri Lankan flavour in an international context and consists of five detailed and interactive segments.

Knighted by the Government of France as ‘Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Letters’, de Silva (www.kumardesilva.com) is also a veteran Public Relations and Media Consultant.

The IPM, established in 1959, is a professional body affiliated to the Asia Pacific Federation of Human Resource Management Association.
