Two popular film and tele-drama actresses, who had sued each other for millions in damages over allegations that they had insulted each other, withdrew their civil suits filed before Colombo District Judge Sujatha Alahpperuma yesterday after they resolved the matter amicably.

Initially actress Semini Iddamalgoda had sued actress Damintha Abeyratne for having allegedly defamed her during an interview she had with Ran FM Channel on January 13 where she is alleged to have made offensive remarks against Ms. Iddamalgoda.
Damitha Abeyratne filed a counter claim against Ms. Iddamalgoda in the Colombo District Court accusing her of having damaged her reputation through false allegations.
