The Executive Director of the People’s Actions for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) Rohana Hettiarachchi said that he has received complaints of violating of election laws against 18 ministries where government employees had allegedly been transferred, promoted, appointed and made permanent.
He said that there are two ministries that come under the purview of President Maithripala Sirisena among them against which allegations are made. One such violation has been averted according to him. In addition, he said, complaints have been received against two provincial councils and 11 local government bodies. Complaints have also been received about the use of vehicles of local government bodies for election propaganda activities, according to him.
