A stock of illicit timber was seized in transit and two suspects arrested by the Pallama Police during a raid in the Wilpotha area. Police had carried out the raid on intelligence received from Pallama STF Unit.
Police said the stock contained 93 logs of valuable timber including satinwood and teak.
Investigations revealed that the suspects were transporting the stock of timber from Wilpotha to Dewalahandiya area without a permit.
A police team under SI Prematilleka had carried out the raid on the instructions of OIC Pallama Police CI H.M.D.B. Herath.
